  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The 22-year-old midfielder has savoured CONCACAF Nations League glory on three occasions with the United States. His best showing at club level came when helping Valencia to a runners-up finish in the 2021-22 Copa del Rey.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Musah is eager to get his hands on a domestic medal, with his performance off the bench in a Supercoppa Italiana clash with Juventus helping Milan to line up a final date with arch-rivals Inter. Said contest will take place in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

  • WHAT MUSAH SAID

Musah has told Football Italia ahead of that encounter, with the Rossoneri looking to land their first piece of major silverware as a collective since 2022: “It would be huge. I’ve won three trophies with the national team, but I haven’t won anything with a club yet so I’m going to give it my all and so are my team-mates. We’re going to give it everything on the field and that’ll help the outcome.

“We were losing (against Juventus) so when you come on you want to change the game – you want to go for it because you need to go for it, and you want to attack more. You need to take the game to them and that’s what I wanted to do really. I’m very pleased and very happy to come back and win 2-1, it was amazing. I just want to win the final, that’s all I care about. I don’t mind if I play or don’t play, we just need to win.”

    WHAT NEXT?

There are no guarantees that Musah will see game time against Inter, with just five Serie A starts made this season, but his fellow countryman Christian Pulisic is expected to figure prominently as ‘Captain America’ seeks to deliver tangible success for a team that he is considered to have become an on-field leader for.
