Garry adds the Chelsea-United contest may be postponed due to "player welfare" concerns, as the Blues are playing Real Madrid in the Champions League just two days later, on October 8. Time is running out for a postponement, with the disruption causing quite the upheaval.

Chelsea sit top of the WSL with two wins from their opening two matches of the Sonia Bompastor era, who succeeded Emma Hayes earlier this year, after thumping newly-promoted Crystal Palace 7-0 on Friday night.

Chelsea may not be in WSL action for a while if the United fixture is moved but the Red Devils are away to Everton on Sunday afternoon. They then begin their WSL Cup campaign on Wednesday at home to Liverpool.
