    WHAT HAPPENED

    Passionate supporters of Palmeiras, one of Brazil's most storied football clubs, took over New York City's Times Square in a vibrant display of fan loyalty on Saturday night. The green-clad supporters transformed the middle of Manhattan with flags, jerseys, and enthusiastic chanting, creating a slice of Brazilian football culture.

    The impromptu gathering gained attention from tourists and locals alike as the Palmeiras faithful performed traditional songs and chants normally heard at the club's Allianz Parque stadium in São Paulo.

    The Brazilian side are in the United States for the Club World Cup and have been placed in Group A alongside Portuguese giants FC Porto, MLS side Inter Miami and Egyptian side Al Ahly.
