WATCH: Chucky Lozano nets dramatic stoppage-time winner as San Diego FC keep LA Galaxy winless

  • Lozano's stoppage-time header secures all three points
  • Victory completes season sweep for expansion side
  • San Diego climb to second place in West
  • WHAT HAPPENED

Hirving "Chucky" Lozano scored a dramatic 95th-minute winner to give San Diego FC a 2-1 victory over the LA Galaxy Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium.

The Mexican international rose highest to meet a perfectly placed cross from Anders Dreyer, powering a header from the center of the box that gave Galaxy goalkeeper no chance and sent the 30,114 fans in attendance into rapturous celebration.

The late heroics capped a back-and-forth match in which the winless Galaxy took a surprising lead in the 40th minute via Diego Fagundez's right-footed finish. San Diego responded immediately, with Luca de la Torre equalizing just one minute later on a composed finish from the center of the box.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

The victory continues San Diego FC's remarkable inaugural MLS season, lifting them to second place in the Western Conference with an 8-3-4 record (27 points). For an expansion side to be performing at such a high level - just one point behind conference leaders Vancouver Whitecaps - represents one of the most successful launches in recent MLS history.

For the Galaxy, the defeat extends their miserable start to the 2025 campaign, as they remain winless with a 0-4-12 record and just 4 points from 16 matches.
