    Miedema picked up a square pass from Fox and made a solo run down the middle before finding the back of the net with a thunderous strike as Arsenal took the lead against Liverpool in the 60th minute. This was the Dutch footballer's first goal for the Gunners since her strike against Aston Villa on December 11, 2022, as she finally gets back to top form following a lengthy injury layoff.

    It was also a momentous occasion for United States women's national team full-back Fox, who registered her first assist for the North London club since joining them earlier this month from North Carolina Courage. Just nine minutes after Miedema's opener, Caitlin Foord doubled the team's lead from Alessia Russo's assist which sealed three points for Arsenal.

    WHAT NEXT FOR ARSENAL?

    The win against the Reds was extremely important for Jonas Eidevall's side, who are now tied on 28 points with Manchester City after 12 matches and are three points behind league leaders Chelsea. They will next face West Ham on February 4 in the WSL.
