  • WHAT HAPPENED?

When Amorim arrived at Manchester United in September, a lot of expectations were put on the Portuguese coach's shoulders. It was expected that Amorim's appointment would help the Red Devils return to form and also potentially help them sign some of Sporting CP's in-demand players like Gyokeres, Ousmane Diomande and Geovany Quenda.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

United's performances have been bad, to say the least, under Amorim as they finished 15th in the Premier League and went trophyless despite reaching the Europa League final. Off the field, the expectations placed on Amorim being able to entice the likes of Gyokeres into joining the Red Devils have also flopped, and The Mirror has reported that the Swedish striker has no plans to join the 20-time Premier League champions.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Gyokeres has been cryptic about his future, however, a number of reports have suggested that the Sporting CP striker may be moving to United's Premier League rivals, Arsenal, to add salt to the Red Devils' wounds.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR GYOKERES?

After helping Sporting CP to a domestic double over Benfica with 54 goals in all competitions, Gyokeres will now have some time to rest and enjoy his holidays before he needs to make a decision over his future.
