VIDEO: Lionel Messi's bodyguard Yassine Cheuko shows off brutal training regime while Inter Miami star is at Copa America

Messi, as the biggest draw in MLS, required somebody to keep an eye out for him on and off the field when completing a move to the United States in 2023. Cheuko previously worked with the Argentina international at Paris Saint-Germain, and was invited to take up a similar role in Florida.

Cheuko is a mysterious figure, with little known about him. He has not spoken to the press about his relationship with Messi and prefers to focus on his professional life. He is responsible for keeping Messi safe, as well as the South American’s wife Antonela and their three children – Thiago, Mateo and Ciro.

Cheuko, who can often be seen chasing down the pitch invaders that try to get close to Messi during MLS fixtures, is prepared to put in the graft that allows him to trusted by one of the biggest sporting icons on the planet. He has shown on social media how gruelling that training regime is – with there an obvious MMA theme running through his routine.

Messi is away on international duty at present, but is still in the U.S. Argentina are looking to successfully defend their Copa America crown, with a return to domestic ranks in Miami set to be made once that quest for more continental glory comes to a close.
