The World Cup winners – who now ply their club trade for the San Diego Wave and Gotham FC respectively - once shared a dressing room that secured dominance in women’s football. O’Hara walked away from the United States camp in 2023, after a failed bid for another global crown, with 160 caps to her name.

Morgan has represented her country on 224 occasions, scoring 123 goals, but has been left out of Emma Hayes’ squad for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. She has been making the most of some down time, with the NWSL taking a mid-season break, and has been catching up with former team-mates.

During a “friends” quiz with experienced defender O’Hara, Morgan admitted to being the one that likes to shop the most. She considers O’Hara to be the funniest, and the one that cries the most, while both are said to have short fuses.

Morgan, who made her senior debut for the USWNT in 2010, has offered no indication that she is considering international retirement just yet. The 35-year-old forward will be hoping that she can earn favour with Hayes again in future rosters.
