The trophy lift comes at the perfect time for Twila Kilgore's squad, who have now gotten over their woes from the 2023 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand. With it arrives a new generation of players, new mentalities and new leadership - soon to be in the form of Chelsea's Emma Hayes.

The lone goal on the evening came from Horan herself, who had quite the tournament from her central midfield role. She scored once in the group stage against Argentina, added another in the knockouts versus Colombia and then added her third Sunday evening with a top header.
