Now, with Chiellini opting to retire at age 39, McKennie has bid him farewell - but surely it won't be the end of their friendship.

WHAT NEXT FOR MCKENNIE AND CHIELLINI

The Bianconeri and McKennie are back in action on Friday against Genoa, before returning to face against Frosinone the following weekend in Serie A action. Chiellini, meanwhile, will now go about enjoying retirement and spending the festive season with his family. Rumors of a return to Juventus in a new role continue to linger, but surely the Italian will take a bit of time away from the pitch - for now.
