    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The report revealed that LAFC's Steve Cherundolo and Columbus Crew's Wilfried Nancy are also on the ballot for the USMNT. The two respective MLS managers are deemed as "main candidates" for the role per the report.

Cherundolo revealed comments earlier in the week regarding links to the role, not exactly hiding that he's interested in it.

    WHAT NEXT FOR THE USMNT?

The U.S. will look to appoint a manager before September arrives, with two international friendlies on the cards. A match against New Zealand, and a contest against Jesse March's Canada await them.

Vieira, meanwhile, will have to wait and see where talks go.
