The USMNT connection! Sergino Dest scores with fine finish for PSV following brilliant assist from Malik Tillman as Eredivisie leaders run riot again AZ Alkmaar

After Luuk de Jong and Ismael Saibari handed PSV a two-goal lead within 11 minutes from kick-off, United States men's national team stars Sergino Dest and Malik Tillman combined to increase their team's tally in the 16th minute.

Tillman shielded his marker while receiving a pass near the centre circle and ran down the middle before sending a through ball for Sergino Dest who made a brilliant run from the left side. The full-back took one touch and then fired the ball into the back of the net from inside the box.

The strike against AZ Alkmaar was Dest's maiden goal for the Dutch club since joining them on loan from Barcelona in the summer. The full-back has appeared in 19 matches across all competitions for the Boeren in the ongoing season which has seen him grab two assists and score once.

With the thumping win over AZ on Sunday, PSV are currently enjoying a resounding 10-point lead atop the Eredivisie table. They have also made it to the knockout stage of the Champions League after finishing second in their group behind Arsenal.

The quick full-back will be next seen in action on Thursday when the Dutch giants take on FC Twente in a KNVB Cup second-round clash.
