Apart from the goal scored by Mitchell Duke, the 25-year-old Dahmen stepped in well with some great saves to keep the scoreline respectable.He twice dived the right way to deny Duke but he was more busy in the first half than the second half when the North Africans surged ahead to try and find an equaliser.

Aymen Dahmen (5/10)

The 26-year-old defender, who features for Swiss club Luzern on loan from Premier League club Nottingham Forest, was superb especially in the first period when he raided Australia dangerzone from the right wing.He had a good chance to reduce the deficit for Tunisia in the 41st minute but his shot from outside the box was blocked by a defender. He delivered another in-swinging cross from the right wing but Harry Souttar was alert to clear the danger.He picked an injury minutes to the half-time break and was replaced by Ferjani Sassi in the 46th minute.

Mohamed Drager (6/10)

The Lorient defender failed to clear the cross that resulted into Australia's goal. Apart from that he recovered well to combine with Yassine Meriah.

Montassar Talbi (4/10)

The 27-year-old Bronn, who features for Italian Serie A club Salernitana, did well to cover for goalkeeper Dahmen especially in the first half.He kept Tunisia in the game after blocking a cross from the overlapping Aziz Behich. He walked off the pitch injured to be replaced by Wajdi Kechrida.

Dylan Bronn (4/10)

The Esperance defender did well to stop Australia's dangermen Duke and Riley McGree from wrecking havoc when they came forward. He cleared a ball destined to the net in the 36th minute.

Yassine Meriah (4/10)

He started off strongly with his spectacular runs from the left-wing and had two crosses into the box in the first half. However, in the second period, Abdi's display was tainted when he was booked for a tackle in the 65th minute.

Ali Abdi (5/10)

Skhiri combined well with Drager before the latter got injured and was replaced. He was quick to intervene in the middle of play when Australia kept pressing for the second goal.

Ellyes Skhiri (4.5/10)

The 25-year-old Laidouni started the game with vigour but he was slowed down as from the 26th minute when he was booked by referee Daniel Siebert following a clumsy challenge on Craig Goodwin.He resorted to a cautious approach knowing another card will see him sent off and was finally withdrawn for Wahbi Khazri in the 67th minute.

Aissa Laidouni (4/10)

Sliti, who started ahead of Anis Ben Slimane, was not active in the opening exchanges but he improved in the second period when he forced keeper Mathew Ryan to two great saves.He had a chance to score from a free-kick in the 53rd minute but he whipped in the resulting set piece over the bar. In the 58th minute, he found himself in a very promising position to score, but was flagged offside.

Naim Sliti  (5/10)

The 32-year-old Msakni, who turns out for Qatar Stars League club Al Arabi on loan from Al-Duhail, had a slow start with Australia defenders giving him hard times to get the ball but he squandered the best chance for the Atlas Lions in the first half.A cross from Issam Jebali found Msakni unmarked inside the box but he fired his effort just wide of the right post from inside the box.He ended up with two shots on target.

Youssef Msakni (7/10)

He was the busiest of all Tunisia players with his superb handling of the ball and crosses which were not utilised. He set up Msakni on two occasions but the chances went begging.He managed three attempts on goal and was lucky not to have been booked after a tough challenge in the 47th minute. He was replaced in the 73rd minute for Taha Yassine Khenissi.

Issam Jebali (7/10)

The 30-year-old Sassi, who came in for the injured Drager, failed to inspire the Carthage Eagles at Al Janoub Stadium.He had a chance to score in the 61st minute when he received a great pass and after controlling the ball, he attempted to score with a powerful effort, but it missed the target and went out.He was was booked for a foul in the 93rd minute.

Ferjani Sassi (3/10)

Came on for his first appearance in Qatar and almost scored in the 88th minute. Khazri created space and darted into the penalty area before unleashing a low-footed effort which was stopped by Ryan.

Wahbi Khazri (3/10)

Made little impact after coming on.

Taha Yassine Khenissi (2/10)
