  • WHAT HAPPENED?

A back injury forced Mullin to miss the opening three games of the 2024-25 season, but he made his highly-anticipated return in Wrexham's 3-0 win against Reading on Saturday. Earlier goals from Ollie Palmer, Elliot Lee and Andy Cannon ensured Mullin's cameo was a comfortable one after he came on for Jack Marriott in the 74th minute.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Red Dragons' aspirations of securing back-to-back-to-back promotions have been well documented, and Mullin will play an important role in that. An integral part of Wrexham's two previous promotions, the 29-year-old proved his value to the Welsh side by being named in the League Two PFA Team of the Year earlier this week. Parkinson now plans to put Mullin through an intensive week of training to try to up his minutes in next week's game against Peterborough United.

  • WHAT PARKINSON SAID

Parkinson said: "It was important to get Paul a little bit of game time. It was never going to be more than that because he knows he's got work to do. It gives us another week with Mulls to really have a tough week with him on the training ground and see if he can go that step closer to being involved again next week."
