  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The 19-year-old was forced to sit out Tottenham's Europa League semi-final first-leg win over Bodo/Glimt after Postecoglou revealed the midfielder had hurt his ankle. Spurs said it looked like the teenager would be ruled out for the season but hopes were raised when he was involved in the photoshoot for the Europa League final, something their other injured players did not feature in. However, head coach Postecoglou has made it clear he won't feature in the showpiece match in Bilbao on May 21.

    WHAT POSTECOGLOU SAID

When asked if Bergvall has made a quick recovery, he told reporters: "No, it's still the same sort of timeframe. Never long term but he's just got out of his boot and taking his first steps on the grass but he'll likely be a while."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Tottenham head into this final against United with some worrying injury developments. Bergvall, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski are all out for the season as Spurs try and win their first trophy in 17 years and their first bit of European silverware since 1984. A final win would also guarantee the north London team Champions League football next season so there is plenty to play for.
