Sir Jim Ratcliffe swings axe again with another Man Utd executive set to leave Old Trafford as restructuring continues

Andy O'Boyle's two-year stint as deputy football director at Manchester United is coming to an end, according to The Athletic. He was recruited from his role as head of elite performance at the Premier League to support previous football director John Murtough, particularly in improving the men's and women's academies.

O'Boyle took on more responsibility when Murtough left last April, assisting INEOS director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford in establishing the new hierarchy that now includes Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth. He was heavily involved in bringing Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte to Old Trafford this summer.

Man Utd's deputy director holds a UEFA Pro Licence and is well-respected across the world of football. He has had previous stints working for England Under-21s, Liverpool, Coventry and Wrexham.

O'Boyle's future is unclear but there is still a lot of work going on behind the scenes at Man Utd under Ratcliffe. The Red Devils have not enjoyed a good start to the new Premier League season, though, losing two of their opening three games.
