Rio Ferdinand hospitalised as Man Utd legend turned pundit misses TNT Sports' coverage of Arsenal's Champions League semi-final showdown with PSG

The former Manchester United and England international was scheduled to be part of the sports channel's show for the second leg of the semi-final tie in Paris. However, he posted a picture of himself from a hospital bed confirming he would not be there.

He wrote on social media: "Gutted to be missing the Semi-Finals this week on @footballontnt!! Wishing the team all the best — I’ll be watching every minute from the iPad!"

Ferdinand has not explained the reason behind his hospitalisation but his assurance that he will be watching the match in Paris from his hospital bed suggests he is in good spirits as fans wished him a speedy recovery.

Arsenal trail PSG on aggregate after losing 1-0 on home soil last week, with Ousmane Dembele scoring the decisive goal. Mikel Arteta's men will have to pull off a comeback victory against a PSG team who have lost just three times at home this season - against Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Nice in their most recent match. They are boosted by the fact that Dembele starts on the bench after injury.
