AFPFinancial impact of Montjuic matches
The club faces huge costs each time it plays away from the Camp Nou. Institutional VP Fort revealed on ‘Tu Diras’ that Barcelona must pay between €300,000 and €900,000 per match at Montjuic, averaging roughly half a million euros. These fees represent a notable financial burden compared to revenue from the 6,000-seat Johan Cruyff Stadium, where Barca played the first two home games of the season. With multiple home fixtures set at Montjuic, including the upcoming Champions League clash with PSG, these costs could quickly accumulate.
AFPFixtures need more focus than off-field woes
Barcelona’s immediate focus is on upcoming home fixtures at Montjuic, including the league game against Sociedad and the Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain on October 1. Once the occupancy license is granted for Camp Nou, the club hope to resume fixtures there, starting with the October 18 match against Girona. The timeline for full reopening remains subject to safety approvals and construction milestones, but the club are managing both sporting ambitions and financial implications while navigating the final phase of one of the largest stadium projects in world football.
