    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ward was born in Wrexham and came through the club's youth academy before making the move to Liverpool. He found game time at Anfield hard to come by and joined Leicester in 2018, serving as an understudy to Kasper Schmeichel. The 32-year-old's deal at the King Power Stadium expires at the end of the month and it looks like he will take his experience to the Racecourse Ground for Wrexham's upcoming campaign in the Championship under Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Ward played five matches in his final season at Leicester, though it was an unsuccessful campaign as the Foxes were relegated back down to the Championship. They are due to face Wrexham in late September in what will be their first meeting in 43 years.

    WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Wrexham have little over a month to reshape their squad before their first league fixture of the season against Southampton. Phil Parkinson's side have been linked with all sorts of players during the summer so far, with the latest being Everton's Ashley Young.
