On Thursday, former Sheffield United manager Warnock paid City's training ground a visit, where he enjoyed a "great day" with the team and Guardiola. After hailing him as the best manager in his lifetime, fans quipped that the 76-year-old could replace the Spaniard at the Etihad when his contract ends in 2027.

Guardiola will undoubtedly go down as one of the best managers of all time, partly for the success he has had at Barcelona, City, and Bayern Munich, but also for how many coaches have been influenced by his style and tactics. He will certainly be a very hard act to follow at City.
