  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Chelsea may have spent £89m to sign Mudryk but he has yet to turn in a series of performances that live up to such a fee. Indeed, in 58 games for the Blues, the winger has scored just seven goals and provided a mere four assists.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

At Euro 2024, Mudryk struggled once again. Ukraine were knocked out with four points at the group stages - becoming the first team ever to be eliminated with such a tally - and the Blues ace failed to either score or assist.

  • WHAT LEBOEUF SAID

Lebeouf was speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latestEuro 2024 betting, and said: "Mudryk has no value anymore - he’s a lost cause and Chelsea won’t make any money on him. Mudryk is so raw and he’s not getting better under many managers - there’s no improvement. Who would want to buy Mudryk? I wouldn’t even buy him for ten million at the moment.

"In fact, I wouldn’t even buy him for £1m. Why would you want to spend money on a player who is not in any way productive. He’s been here 18 months and I know it’s been difficult for him given his circumstances at home in Ukraine, but judging from what I’ve seen, I really worry that Chelsea have signed a dud in Mudryk and they must replace him. I was bought for £2m in 1996 and I thought that was a lot! Mudryk was bought for £70m or something - it’s insane!"

    WHAT NEXT?

Mudryk has already returned to pre-season training with Chelsea, cutting short his holiday to do so, as he bids to make an impression under new boss Enzo Maresca. The Blues' first pre-season friendly comes against Wrexham on July 25.
