Mohamed Salah to face South Africa! Liverpool & Egypt star learns AFCON fate alongside African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman - as groups drawn for 2025 tournament in Morocco
Mohamed Salah and Egypt have learned their fate for the AFCON after the group stage draw for the 2025 tournament.
Salah's Egypt have been drawn in Group B alongside South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe. The Pharaohs will begin their journey at the AFCON 2025 on December 22 against the Bafana Bafana, who eliminated 2022 World Cup semi-finalists Morocco from the round of 16 in the last edition of the African competition.

Meanwhile, current African Player of the Year and Atalanta star Ademola Lookman is set to line up for Nigeria against Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania in Group C. Nigeria lost in the final against the Ivory Coast in the last edition, but will be among the favourites to lift the trophy again with the likes of Lookman and Victor Osimhen leading the attack.
