Matteo Guendouzi to head back to Premier League?! Lazio midfielder a top target for Newcastle as summer window looms

Per Tuttomercatoweb, Lazio star Guendouzi is being eyed by Newcastle ahead of the summer window. The interest is not said to be linked to the future of Sandro Tonali, who is reportedly keen to leave the club.

Eddie Howe is said to be a big fan of Guendouzi and has placed him at the top of his shortlist for potential midfield signings. The Magpies are likely to have to refresh their squad this summer as they continue to push for Champions League qualification; they currently occupy the final qualifying position in fifth.

Guendouzi was also targeted by Newcastle last summer but the midfielder did not end up making the move to Tyneside. He has gone on to play 42 times in all competitions for Lazio.

Newcastle wrap up their season against Ipswich Town, Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Everton as they bid to retain their fifth-placed position.
