Man Utd set to be snubbed by Jean-Philippe Mateta as Red Devils continue search for alternatives to 'top target' Liam Delap

Mateta had been a long-time target for United, who are keen to bolster their squad with a new striker this summer, report Mail Sport. The Frenchman is inclined to stay at Palace, though, as they prepare for their first-ever European campaign.

Delap had been the main target for United, with technical director Jason Wilcox disappointed to miss out on the player having held a relationship with him from the Manchester City academy. The England Under-21 international is set to sign for Chelsea instead.

United have also been offered PSG forward Goncalo Ramos. The 23-year-old fits the age profile the club are after and the report states it could be a deal worth keeping an eye on as the summer progresses.

United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are set to follow that up by buying Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. A new centre-forward is also a priority as Ruben Amorim faces a make-or-break campaign at the club.
