  • Wants his team to enjoy 'nerve-wracking' title battle
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Reds currently enjoy a two-point lead at the top of the table after Sunday's Premier League fixture between Manchester City and Arsenal at Etihad which ended in a goalless draw. With the English top tier reaching its business end, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claimed that his team will have to keep a positive mindset if they are to go all the way and lift the trophy.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Before the Cityzens and the Gunners played out a goalless draw, the Merseyside club were also in action on Sunday. After Danny Welbeck handed an early lead to Brighton, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah's goals ensured that Klopp's men walked away with all three points and maintained their lead at the top, just a matter of hours before their rivals cancelled each other out at the Etihad.

  • WHAT JURGEN KLOPP SAID

Speaking to reporters after that win, the German manager said: "We have to get through this (and) we decide if we enjoy it or not, pretty much. It will be tough and yes, it is sometimes nerve-wracking and the heart rate will be at 180 or 200 or whatever from time to time if you watch it or if you play in it. But if we all together enjoy this, then we have a chance. If we don't, we still have a chance, it's just really much more difficult and that's why we try to stay positive in all these moments.

"It is a great situation where the boys brought us in, we are there with two other teams fighting for the biggest prize in English football and we will see how it will end up. But I decided I will really try hard to enjoy it."

He added: "When I talk about being nervous as a whole unit, we were more nervous years ago. That's long ago but it is something we had to develop together... If we all together enjoy this, then we have a chance. If we don't, we still have a chance, it's just really more difficult and that's why we try to stay positive in all these moments."
