    The Reds have remained long-time admirers of Koopmeiners and had recently sent scouts to monitor the midfielder's performance in one of Atalanta's games, however, according to Tuttosport, the Reds may now have changed their transfer plans. The Dutchman's team-mate Ederson reportedly caught the attention of the club's representatives.

    The 24-year-old Brazilian international had an impressive outing with the Serie A side as he scored seven goals and provided an assist in 37 matches across all competitions. He played an important role in Atalanta finishing fourth in the league and winning the Europa League, where they beat Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
