According to a report from BILD (h/t Bundesliga News), Bayern Munich have decided against offering a new contract to Goretzka, despite the midfielder's willingness to fight for his place in the team and a strong second-half of the season to back it up.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Per the report, Bayern informed Goretzka that they will allow the player to depart this summer if a suitable offer arrives. The German midfielder is tied with the Bavarians until 2026, and is keen on seeing out his contract at the Allianz Arena instead of seeking greener pastures this summer. Goretzka worked hard to fight for his place under Vincent Kompany, which he managed to achieve to some extent, especially in the latter half of the ongoing campaign. It turns out, however, that his recent strong showings haven't been convincing enough for the Bayern higher-ups to change their stance.
Having already wrapped up the Bundesliga title, the Rekordmeister will play their final game of the season on Saturday, May 17, when they take on Hoffenheim. Then, they will be seen in action in the Club World Cup, which begins next month.
