'It will be a dream!' Kylian Mbappe reveals desire to play in olympics but admits decision is out of his hands ahead of Real Madrid transfer

France captain Kylian Mbappe has admitted that he would like to play in the Olympics, but conceded that the decision is out of his hands.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Mbappe is eligible to play in the 2024 Olympics, and his participation in the tournament has been subject of discussion around French football. Henry has repeatedly claimed that he wants to have PSG's all-time leading goalscorer in his side for the tournament.

  • WHAT MBAPPE SAID

    In a press conference, Mbappe offered hope that he might be able to represent his country: "I always wanted to play at the Olympics and my desire has not changed. If I play the Olympics then it will be a dream, but if I'm not allowed to, then I will do as I'm told. The decision is still up to one person and they haven't told me yes or no."

    Mbappe's participation in his home tournament would seem to be complicated by his pending move to Madrid. Although he assured reporters that his future will be determined before the Euros, Los Blancos may be reluctant to let their star striker leave so soon after securing his signature.
