‘Hungry for more’ - Alisha Lehmann sends determined message for 2024 as Aston Villa and Switzerland star looks back on her best moments this calendar year

The Aston Villa forward has remained a regular at club level throughout the last 12 months, while she is also up to 48 senior caps for Switzerland and represented her country at the World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand.

Not everything has gone her way, with challenges faced on and off the field, and the intention is to make 2024 even more productive on personal and professional levels – with there plenty for the 24-year-old to look forward to.

Lehmann has posted on Instagram, delivering a determined message to her 16.3 million followers: “The year 2023. I think in this year I had a lot of downs and highs, I grown and learned a lot as a person. Playing the World Cup with Switzerland (what an experience), winning a lot of games with Aston Villa, enjoyed every moment on the football pitch. I wanna say thank you to my family, the fans, my teammates and my friends for always supporting me. You all give me the feeling to never give up, in this year I needed the support like never before, we made it, and that’s only cause of you all! I will always work hard and try to be the best version of myself to make you all proud, football is my life and I’m hungry for more.”

Lehmann – who has signed up to feature in the inaugural ‘Baller League’ put together by German icons Lukas Podolski and Mats Hummels – is tied to a contract at Villa through to 2026, with there an option in those terms for a further 12-month extension.
