    THE GOSSIP

Hugh Jackman, Paul Rudd, Eva Longoria and Channing Tatum are among the stars to have graced SToK Racecourse, along with Blake Lively and Kaitlin Olson, with Wrexham’s playing and coaching staffs having to adjust quickly to the attention that an award-winning documentary series has delivered.

  • WHAT MAX CLEWORTH SAID

Home-grown defender Cleworth has told the Men In Blazers podcast when asked to pick out the most memorable jaw-dropping moment in what has been a remarkable adventure: “It was probably when Will Ferrell came into the changing room.

“Now, since, there have been a few more A-list celebrities that have come in and it’s a bit more normal. But when he came in it was like ‘what is going on here?’ He came in just before a game. He was just walking around the changing room and the lads were completely starstruck. That was probably the one moment where I was like ‘what is going on?’

“The first time that I met Ryan and Rob when they came over, that was probably a bit like ‘this is really strange’, because they were so normal straight away. Now you think ‘well obviously they are going to be normal’, but those two moments were ‘what is going on?’”

    DID YOU KNOW?

Quizzed on whether mingling with movie stars has become normal for Wrexham, Cleworth added: “It definitely has now. At the end of the day they are just the owners’ friends that are coming over to watch a game. When you meet these people, you realise how down to earth they are. They are such interesting people as well that it’s good to speak to them and talk about their life.”

  • WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

More big names are expected at Wrexham games in the near future, with Tatum among those to have promised that he will be returning. Phil Parkinson is hoping to give all of the club’s loyal fan base more to cheer about in 2025 as his League One high-fliers chase down a historic third successive promotion.
