  • Red Dragons enjoyed comprehensive win
  • Frontman netted on three occasions
  • First effort took a wicked deflection
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The prolific Red Dragons frontman is back in the groove this season after recovering from the punctured lung that he suffered during a summer tour of the United States. He is up to nine efforts for the campaign, with another match ball claimed last time out in a 6-0 mauling of Morecambe. There were no doubts regarding his second and third of that contest, but his first strike did take a wicked deflection that left his manager mulling over whether Mullin would be awarded the goal.

    WHAT PARKINSON SAID

Parkinson told Wrexham’s YouTube channel after seeing Mullin fill his boots against Morecambe: “He was good, very good. I thought his all round play, his link play and his runs, were really good. Really good display getting a hat-trick. It can’t be bad can it! The first one I wasn’t sure if he had been awarded it or not because of the deflection, but goals are so important and key moments in games to take chances – the fourth goal really does kill the game off. I’m just as pleased with his all round performance.”

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mullin now has 88 goals for Wrexham through 111 appearances, with his contribution helping the club to smash records last season as they returned to the Football League in style. He is showing no sign of slowing down, with Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney being given plenty to shout about.

WHAT NEXT FOR MULLIN & WREXHAM?

Wrexham have risen to second place in the League Two table, as they target back-to-back promotions, and will be hoping to see Mullin and Co fire on all cylinders again when they return to action away at Harrogate on Tuesday.
