  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The Everton faithful continued their show of protest against the Premier League authorities after being hit with a 10-point deduction for breaching its financial fair play rules. The away stand at the City Ground had plenty of supporters with pink leaflets with "corrupt" written on them. In addition, the buses they used to reach the stadium flashed "Premier League Corrupt" on the LED boards at the front.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The coaches seemed to do the trick as Sean Dyche's troops had a decent outing away from home, emerging triumphant by a 1-0 margin thanks to Dwight McNeil's fine second-half goal. It was a much-needed three points as it fired the Toffees to 18th spot, just two points shy of Luton Town, who are just a rung above the relegation zone.

    Everton fans have reportedly raised over £40,000 for a fighting fund that will be used to fuel their protests across stadiums in England through banners and leaflets. However, the club have also submitted a formal plea against the Premier League's sanction in front of a Judicial Panel, which will now form an Appeal Board to hear the case.
