    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wolves were Jota's first club in England when he signed on an initial loan deal from Atletico Madrid in 2017. He was a key part of the Wanderers side which won promotion to the Premier League, going on to make 131 appearances and scoring 44 goals in three years with the club as the West Midlands side solidified themselves in the top flight with two successive seventh-placed finishes. Jota then moved to Liverpool for £45m in 2020.

  • WHAT WOLVES SAID

Wolves posted on the club's official X page: "Diogo Jota has been inducted into the Wolves Hall of Fame. It's a tribute that honours both his remarkable achievements for the club and the deep impact his passing has had on the footballing world."

    TRIBUTES FOR JOTA CONTINUE

The football world continues to mourn the loss of Jota with brother Andre Silva in a tragic car accident. Liverpool and Preston North End paid a touching tribute prior to their pre-season friendly on Sunday and similar tributes will continue long into the new season and beyond. Wolves have made their own testimonial to a former fans' favourite, which comes after Liverpool announced they will be retiring the No. 20 shirt in Jota's honour.
