More of the same was delivered by Alaves followers during Greenwood’s latest outing. The game was brought to a halt in the 18th minute as match officials attempted to quieten those in the stands. The abuse continued, but no further action was taken.
WHAT BORDALAS SAID
Getafe have been left frustrated by broken promises from La Liga, with rules drawn up that are supposed to see top-flight fixtures suspended. Club boss Jose Bordalas has told DAZN of a lack of decisive action in Spain: “They have sung ‘Greenwood die’ and the protocol says that when it happens a second time, the game has to be stopped and the players have to go to the locker room. I have read it. And the referee has not done it. If they are the first to not comply with the protocols, it will never stop.”
