  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mihailovic promised a big season ahead in a wide-ranging interview with GOAL before the season.

“The expectation is to lift as many trophies as you can,” he told GOAL. “It's important as the team starts the season, every single player believes that we can achieve it."

So far, he's lived up to those expectations with two goals and two assists in the opening six games of the season and the Rapids are exceeding expectations at fifth place in the West.

    WHAT’S NEXT?

The Colorado Rapids have been in superb form and are only two points behind Conference leaders Vancouver Whitecaps. Not only that, their start is their best since 2014, when they also had three wins, two draws, and one loss. Following this, Mihailovic and the Rapids will look to build on this momentum as they travel north of the border for their Matchday 7 fixture against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on April 5. They then return home to host San Diego FC for the first time on April 12 in the MLS.
