    WHAT HAPPENED?

Milan were second-best the entire way, with Torino blowing them away in the first half with two goals. The first came from Duvan Zapata, who opened the scoring in the 26th minute. Ivan Ilic then doubled the lead with a 40th-minute goal, giving Torino a 2-0 lead heading into the dressing room.

Seconds into the second half, that lead was 3-0. Former Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez, who assisted Zapata's opener, scored just seconds into the second half, essentially ending Milan's hopes of a comeback.

Milan did get one back, though, with Pulisic drawing a penalty, that was converted by Ismael Bennacer to make it 3-1.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The loss won't mean much to Milan in the grand scheme of things. The total has long been decided, with the Rossoneri's local rivals Inter Milan claiming the Scudetto with plenty of games remaining. Milan also can't be caught by third-place Bologna, even with the loss, leaving them locked into second place this season.

Torino, meanwhile, won't be able to make a meaningful leap, either, even with the win, as they're unable to catch any of the teams above them for European places.

    USMNT IMPACT

Both of Milan's Americans were named to the starting XI, with Pulisic selected to lead an otherwise shorthanded attack.

Christian started on the right, joining Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor, who took over in place of usual starters Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao. Pulisic was the only one of the three to really contribute, drawing the penalty to pave the way for Bennacer's goal.

Yunus Musah joined his international teammate in the XI, starting alongside Bennacer and Tijani Reijnders. The American midfielder was decent enough in midfield but was unable to help Milan overcome a disastrous first half.

    GOAL'S RATINGS

    Christian Pulisic (7/10):

Drew the penalty and had a few good looks at goal otherwise. Far and away Milan's most dangerous attacker, although that isn't saying much given how poor some of his teammates were.

    Yunus Musah (6/10):

Solid but not spectacular. Made the most of his opportunities on the ball and had a few good sequences defensively.

    WHAT COMES NEXT?

Milan will now look ahead to their final match of the season as they prepare to host Salernitana at the San Siro to close the Serie A campaign. They'll then jet off to Australia for a quick post-season friendly against Roma on May 31.
