Bargain! New Antony price tag revealed as Man Utd prepare to accept huge loss on £85m flop that is thriving on loan at Real Betis

The Red Devils invested £85 million ($113m) in the South American when prising him away from Ajax in 2022. A move to Old Trafford saw Antony reunited with former boss Erik ten Hag, but a spark proved difficult to find.

Antony registered just 12 goals and five assists for United through 96 appearances in all competitions. Having been deemed surplus to requirements, a loan move to Real Betis was sanctioned during the winter transfer window of 2025.

Antony has hit the ground running there, posting eight goals and five assists in 21 outings. He has helped to fire Betis to the Europa Conference League final, where they will face Premier League giants Chelsea.

Impressive showings in Spain have attracted attention, with Atletico Madrid among those said to be mulling over a summer move for a player that Betis are understandably eager to retain on either a permanent basis or through another loan.

According to Football Insider, Antony will be made available by United at between £20-30 million ($40m). They accept that they are not going to get their money back on the Brazil international, despite his current form.

Antony has spoken of his happiness in Spain, having shunned rival offers in order to join Betis. News of a relatively low asking price will likely attract more suitors before the next window opens.
