'Deeply concerned' - Aston Villa Women join in complaints about new wet-look kit ahead of start of WSL season

Villa and new kit manufacturer Castore are under pressure to address the issue, with The Telegraph reporting that players are annoyed by the shirt's tendency to become soaking wet quickly and cling to their bodies throughout the game.

The report says the women's team feel the kit feels "really bad" and that players are "deeply concerned" about it ahead of the new season kicking off this weekend.

It was reported earlier this week that players on the men's team have voiced their concerns to the club hierarchy as it has been claimed the new shirts become too heavy and may be hindering their performances. The women's team have now reported the same issue and hope to have the problem fixed soon.

The women's side even opted to ditch the new shirt for one of their pre-season friendlies and wore training shirts instead.

The issue will come as a bit of an embarrassment for new kit manufacturer Castore, who already have deals with the likes of Newcastle, Rangers, Bayer Leverkusen and the England cricket team.

Villa Women start their WSL campaign with a match against Manchester United on Sunday.
