'It’s too much' - Arsenal fans slammed for wild celebrations after Chelsea romp as Joe Cole claims he 'heard fireworks' at Emirates Stadium

Mikel Arteta's men were unstoppable in the second half against Chelsea as braces from Kai Havertz and Ben White - following a Leandro Trossard opener in the first half - propelled them to a massive victory over their local rivals on Tuesday evening. As Martin Odegaard and Co. ran riot on the pitch, the decibel levels in the stands kept soaring until it reached the crescendo at full time, which saw them go four points clear at the top from second-placed Manchester City, who have two games in hand.

Chelsea legend Cole was not too pleased with the celebrations and the TNT Sports pundit even claimed that the fans were a "bit too much".

“I heard fireworks from the Arsenal fans," he said. "I think [celebrations] are a bit early with five games to go. It’s a bit too much.”

Cole headed for the exit gate immediately after the final whistle as he was in no mood to watch the Arsenal faithful make merry in the gallery. However, he was called back by TNT for the post-match show and Arsenal icon pundit Martin Keown did not miss the opportunity to have a go at him.

"I was in the back of the cab ready to go home but they told me I had to come back to work," joked Cole. "No interest in [hanging around to hear Arteta]."

Keown was quick to hit back and replied: "A bit like Chelsea’s team he went missing!"

Cole will hope to see Arsenal lose steam in the final lap of the Premier League campaign as the ex-Chelsea striker would not want the Gunners to lift their first Premier League title since the Invincibles season back in 2003. Arteta's men do have a tricky run of fixtures as they are set to face Tottenham, Bournemouth, Manchester United and Everton, respectively before the end of the season.
