    WHAT HAPPENED?

  • WHAT MANCHESTER UNITED SAID

United put out a statement which read: "Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has joined Trabzonspor on loan for the duration of the 2025/26 season, subject to international clearance and registration. THE BIGGER PICTURE

United have already moved to reshape their goalkeeping department. After being linked with Aston Villa’s World Cup winner Emiliano Martínez and PSG’s Champions League hero Gianluigi Donnarumma, the club eventually settled on Belgian youngster Senne Lammens.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the loan deal to Trabzonspor contains no option to buy and there will be no loan fee as well. This means the move is strictly about rebuilding form and regaining composure, rather than an outright parting of ways. United are keeping the door ajar for a potential return, though his long-term prospects at Old Trafford remain murky.

Lammens arrives with promise but faces enormous pressure as he prepares to stake his claim for the coveted No.1 shirt. His first test could not be tougher; a Manchester derby clash against Pep Guardiola’s men on Sunday.
