  • WHAT HAPPENED?

A report from Calciomercato has revealed that Christian Pulisic's continued brilliance for AC Milan might not be enough to save Paulo Fonseca's job as the man in charge in the dugout. The Rossoneri have struggled for consistency and Fonseca seemingly doesn't have much time to avoid getting the sack.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Milan have bagged just four wins from their opening nine games in Serie A, which leaves them in eighth position in the table. What's more, they have looked out of sorts in the Champions League, too, winning just one of their opening three games in the new format.

Fonseca, for his part, is optimistic about changing the fortunes and getting Milan's season back on track. On the contrary, senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, technical director Geoffrey Moncada, and CEO Giorgio Furlani are running short of patience.

The Milan higher-ups have backed Fonseca for the time being and the team's next few games, against Monza (November 2), Real Madrid (November 5), and Cagliari (November 8) before the international break will serve as a precursor to Fonseca's future at the club. Positive results will secure his job, but anything less will likely spell the end of Fonseca's time at the club.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Per the Calciomercato report, the higher-ups at Milan, including legend Ibrahimovic, have urged the former Roma manager to integrate out-of-favour Rafael Leao back into his plans. Leao was dropped from the XI in Milan's 2-0 loss to Napoli earlier this week, giving wind to rumours of a rift between the two.

    WHAT NEXT FOR AC MILAN?

Pulisic and his Milan team-mates will hope to end their bad run of form with the visit to relegation-threatened Monza on Saturday, November 2.
