The 27-year-old KCCA FC keeper is the favourite to start in goal for the Cranes owing to his experience. He has also been preferred to start for the Cranes since the retirement of veteran Denis Onyango, and could continue in the role against the Desert Warriors.

Charles Lukwago

Fresh from winning the Ugandan Premier League title with Vipers SC, the 20-year-old is known for his pace and good positioning and can also help in the attacking line when an opportunity arises.

Gavin Kizito

It is a tough call to decide between Martin Kizza of Express FC and the 29-year-old, who plays for Viktoria Zizkov in the Czech Republic but the latter has been performing well and featured in recent international assignments.

Isaac Muleme

The 27-year-old defender was among key players for Scottish club Motherwell, who earned a Europa Conference League slot for next season and he will be expected to marshall the Cranes backline.

Bevis Mugabi

The 25-year-old was vital as the Venoms wrapped up the season with the league title and could be preferred by Sredojevic to partner Mugabi at the heart of the Cranes’ backline as they strive for a positive start in the qualifiers.

Halid Lwaliwa

The El Gouna midfielder has been impressive during the last four matches he has turned out for the Cranes and could line up alongside Khalid Aucho in midfield.

Allan Kyambadde

The 28-year-old is an almost guaranteed starter for the East African side owing to his superb displays for the national team and Yanga SC of Tanzania. His main job will be to anchor the midfield and help in building up play from the back.

Khalid Aucho

The 24-year-old, who features for Ukrainian club Lviv, missed a big chunk of international matches in 2021 owing to Covid-19 restrictions but is now available. Dangerous behind the striker and on his day he cannot be stopped.

Farouk Miya

The attacking midfielder, who turns out for Algerian outfit AC Paradou, remains the preferred player on the right wing. His trickery, pace, and eye for goal or assist, make him dangerous at any given time, and he could get the nod to start in the away game.

Allan Okello

The captain of the side since Onyango's retirement remains one of the experienced heads in the Cranes set-up and is expected to feature in the left wing. His efforts from long range, and cutting in from the left makes him a nightmare for any defender.

Emmanuel Okwi

The 24-year-old, who plays for Bnei Sakhnin in the Israeli Premier League, is currently the leading striker in Uganda and has three goals in his last four international matches. His eye for goal makes him a sure bet to lead the attacking line against the Desert Warriors.
