Zouma drafted in to face Man Utd as Alonso withdraws in Chelsea warm-up

The Frenchman will make his 50th start for the club as the Blues look to secure victory at Old Trafford on Sunday

Kurt Zouma has been drafted in as a late replacement to face Manchester United after Marcos Alonso pulled out during Chelsea's pre-match warm-up due to illness.

Hazard hints he'd consider Chelsea exit

The news comes as another blow for the Premier League leaders after Thibaut Courtois was ruled out after sustaining an injury, with Asmir Begovic replacing him in goal.

It is Zouma's seventh appearance and second start in the league since his recovery from the injury he picked up in February 2016.

The France international partners Gary Cahill and David Luiz in the defence, while Cesar Azpilicueta is pushed to the left-wing back role, with Victor Moses on the right.

Antonio Conte's men were clearly not helped by the development, conceding to Jose Mourinho's side just seven minutes in as Marcus Rashford took on a pass from Ander Herrera and fired past Begovic.
