Zambia land in Abuja for showdown with Super Eagles

Zambia national team finally arrived in Abuja for their make or mar Fifa World Cup qualifier against Nigeria on Saturday.

Wedson Nyrirenda’s men had been fine-tuning their strategies at the Marcel Desailly Sports Complex Accra for days – in their bid to shock the Super Eagles in Uyo.

In Abuja, the 2012 African champions will wait for FC Liefering’s Patson Daka before heading for the Akwa Ibom state capital – where they will be lodged at Le Meriden Hotel.

The Chipolopolo will have their first workout on Thursday morning before having a feel of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday evening.

Coach Nyirenda will be without the services of Edward Chilufya, Brian Mwila and Emmanuel Banda for the clash on Saturday.

Zambia are three points behind Gernot Rohr’s side who top with 10 points  - and a shock win will hand them a lifeline in their quest to reach their first Fifa World Cup.
