Younousse Sankhare double sees Bordeaux beat stubborn Videoton

The Senegalese forward bagged a brace to hand Les Girondins a favourable result in the Europa League

A brace from Younousse Sankhare helped Bordeaux to a 2-1 win over Videoton in the Europa League third qualifying round, first leg encounter.

Sankhare’s 18th and 33rd minute strikes earned Jocelyn Gourvennec ‘s side a slim advantage going into the return leg.

The French side looked comfortable for much of Thursday's game at Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux, with Bordeaux indebted to goalkeeper Benoit Costil for restricting Danko Lazovic from wreaking havoc.

With Marko Scepovic getting a goal for the visitors, the second leg billed for Sóstói Stadion promises to be explosive as a ticket for the next round is at stake.
