Following the defeat against their arch rivals Simba on Sunday, Yanga are preparing for their trip to Algeria to face U.S.M Alger on May 6th in the Caf Confederation Cup.
This will be the opening game for Yanga who were placed in the group D alongside Rayon Sports (Rwanda) and Gor Mahia (Kenya).
Speaking to Goal, Yanga’s spokesman Dismas Teni said that the preparations started since Monday and the team is expected to depart on Thursday through Dubai before reaching the final destination.
“We are ready for the long trip to Algeria, players are in a good mood despite Sunday's defeat and we hope that we will do better in the game" said Teni.
Yanga who were in the race to win the fourth premier league title in row were stunned 1-0 by Simba in the Dar es Salaam derby last Sunday.
The defeat left them 14 points behind Simba who are now five points away from clinching the title for the first time in five season.
After the game against Alger Yanga will return home to face Rayon Sports on May 16.
