The Golden Boot race may seemingly be over but one market that is still competitive is the Top La Liga Scorer at the World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Denis Cheryshev currently lead the stakes on four goals each, however crucially both players have already been eliminated – leaving the door open for Antoine Griezmann.

All three players can be backed at 7/4 (2.75) with bet365 and whilst the Frenchman only has three goals to his name, he has two more matches to oust Ronaldo and Cheryshev and take the spoils.

It is worth noting that dead heat rules do apply, so if two or more players end up on the same amount of goals, there will be a reduction in winnings.

Griezmann’s France take on Belgium in the first semi-final and the Atletico Madrid forward, who also takes penalties for his country, will be enticed by the prospect of facing a side that has conceded five goals in their last four.

The last time the two sides met was in a friendly which Belgium won 4-3, so there is plenty of potential for goals once again and for the 27-year-old to overtake Ronaldo and Cheryshev.

Regardless of whether Les Bleus win or lose, Griezmann will likely play another game after that, although his participation in a potential third-place playoff may be limited.

Also available in the same market is Luka Modric, who has two goals to his name and can be backed at 50/1 (51.0).

The Croatia midfielder will also likely play two further matches and is currently his country’s top scorer in the absence of a regular goalscorer upfront, making him always a threat from the centre of the park.
