Kariobangi Sharks won their first ever major competition after defeating Sofapaka 3-2 in the Shield Cup final on Saturday.

It was a milestone for the team that was playing in the National Super League two seasons ago and head coach William Muluya is delighted with the outcome of the game and is happy with the way the players gave everything on the pitch for that win.

“I will not single out one player to congratulate, this was teamwork and it won us the game. Everyone gave his best from the first whistle, and even when we were down, the spirit was amazing. It is what we wanted and have worked hard for it, I am delighted.

“The hard work begins now, we have to work harder and get prepared for the busy season ahead.”

Sharks will now represent Kenyain the Caf Confederations Cup next season.
