'When the game gets ugly he appears' - 'amazing' CR7 heralded by Ronaldo

Former Real Madrid and Brazil striker Ronaldo believes that Cristiano Ronaldo holds the key to his old side beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Ronaldo's Portuguese namesake has been in fine form this season, scoring 15 goals in just 11 European outings.

Indeed, Ronaldo has only been nullified so far by Bayern, though they were still beaten 2-1 in the first leg at Allianz Arena, with Marcelo and Marco Asensio on the scoresheet.

And the iconic former forward, who spent five years at Santiago Bernabeu, believes the 33-year-old thrives in tense situations.

"It's amazing what he's doing, he plays fewer balls but he decides the game better than before," he told AS.

"He has a lot of resources, when the game gets ugly he appears."

Ronaldo scored a phenomenal overhead kick in the quarter-finals, as Real defeated Juventus and, though the legendary Brazilian won the World Cup along with numerous other trophies, he insists even he has not tried to score such a goal.

"This last bicycle kick was something incredible ... I have not tried it!"

Madrid can qualify for their third straight Champions League final on Tuesday, as they look to preserve their 2-1 aggregate lead from the first leg against Bayern.

They will face either Liverpool or Roma, with the Reds holding a 5-2 lead over the Italian side after an action-packed first leg at Anfield.
