What are Mamelodi Sundowns' PSL fixtures? Complete 2017/18 schedule

Comments()
Masandawana will begin their 2017/18 PSL campaign with a Tshwane Derby later this month

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) on Friday released its fixtures for the new season, and Goal gives Mamelodi Sundowns' fans a comprehensive guide of everything that they will need to look forward to starting from August 19.

Masandawana will be eager to regain their crown after they were dethroned by Bidvest Wits last season, and that will mean Pitso Mosimane’s men will be hungrier and stronger than ever going into the new season.

However, the Tshwane giants are a marked team as they carry the honour of being African Champions, and it doesn’t get any easier for Sundowns, who will contend with a Tshwane Derby in their season opener.

Arguably, the Brazilians most difficult period will occur between the months of August through to November where they will lock horns with many of the league’s big guns such as Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and the Students.

Their clash against Cape Town City, a side that developed into Sundowns’ hoodoo team over the past twelve months, will be reserved for December 19 as they close off 2017.

If Sundowns do find themselves in contention for the title at the turn of the new year, they will need to be at their very best until March as they once again have several big games lined up.

But if they do manage to weather the storm, they will be considered as favourites simply because they have a favourable schedule towards the end of the campaign.
